With 8 skills and 8 cooldowns most of the time the choice narrows to "trigger the next available skill" Honestly, this should not be the case if someone is playing properly. If they have spammed every ability on their bar, it is 99% likely they have used an ability when it wasn't ideal. I...

I don't see much value in adding aditional energy pools for specific purposes (stamina for sprinting) since they actually decrease the amount of decisions you have to make. I'd rather have sprint / dodge abilities use the same energy as abilities currently do and then you have to decide between usi...

I integrated your info in my list above, but I still feel that spammed skills and unused skills are solely a result of skewed balancing.
I agree, that cooldowns are much easier to balance, but you still have CastTime for per skill balancing left, so that should not be that big a problem.

Right now there are 2 mechanisms to limit skill use: Energy-Cost and Cooldown I wonder why and feel that it might solely be a balancing crutch ... but maybe I'm wrong... I would try to go for "Energy only" because: Energy + Cast Time Pro - single, simple stat - forces choice of which skill...
